Actually, I'd love to see your interpretation of a Thark. ERB's description is weird enough that I think it would be hard to make one look like a story character (ie, identifiable like individual people are) as opposed to some weird monster. I was looking at some news about the movie-in-progress, and it looks like they've chosen an interesting way of dealing with it... the two Tharks cast so far are being played by Willem Dafoe and Thomas Hayden Church - two guys who are weird-looking in very similar ways.
Have you seen the movie version released last year? From the trailer it looks like a low rent cross between the Conan and Dune movies. Tracy Lords as Princess Leah. Ugh.
