Michael Kaluta drawing Flash Gordon ?!?!?!

I stumbled on a few pages of Kaluta's artwork featuring Flash Gordon...beautiful pages! I have never heard of any Flash Gordon storylines done by Kaluta!

 Does anyone have any ideas?

Love this type of linework. great find!
I encourage everyone to also check out the great Kevin Ferrara. If you don't know him, he draws in that amazing tradition of Frazetta/Jones/ Kaluta/Wrightson. He's a great inspiration. His samples are at

I looked through K.Ferrara's work and enjoyed it a lot! I remember when his western comic book came out. It was pretty cool.
Danos, I also enjoyed your "Cyclops" story! Very nicely done. Not only the inking, but also the storytelling.

And still, no one has given me a clue as to the origin of these Kaluta pages!

WOW thanks alot for the positive comment! Very glad you checked it out and liked it, I'm greatly humbled!
To return the favor I did some extensive searching and... There was a Flash Gordon #18 comic called Shiraz (http://diversionsofthegroovykind.blogspot.gr/2009/09/famous-first-fridays-introducing.html) which is very early Kaluta and nothing like the ones you found. BUT a Flash Gordon fanzine by pros came out from Heritage with a Kaluta strip called Crash Landing (info at http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/heritage-1a-1b-flash-gordon-alex-132443612 OR http://booksteveslibrary.blogspot.gr/2006/03/flash-gordons-heritage.html). The rest of the pages from the story can be checked out at http://kitbashed.com/blog/landspeeder OR http://thegoldenagesite.blogspot.gr/2009/03/flash-gordon-batch-of-images-alex.html.
(Man, how cool is the internet...!)
