Baba Yaga page 5 (pencils)
The prince is revived, but he is not the man he used to be. He is now a distrusting creature of shadows and to safeguard himself in the future he puts his soul in an egg, in a duck, in a hare, in a crystal chest chained high up in an ancient oak.

Are you thinking of retaining some of those lines on the tree radiating out from the eyes, in your final inked version? I guess too many could get busy.....but I was wondering if you were thinking about keeping a hint of that.
I think I can get a "Toppi" sort of rendering done so the shape is not totally black...I like the idea of continuing the rendering into the dark areas of the panel with the eyes!
I am the writer and artist of "Robotika", and an illustrator of "Dark Crystal" comic books, both being published by Archaia Studios Press. This blog, "Moonstruck", is a record of my journey as I work on comics and learn, learn, learn...and learn. Hope you enjoy the pictures :)
