Baba Yaga page 5 (pencils)

The prince is revived, but he is not the man he used to be. He is now a distrusting creature of shadows and to safeguard himself in the future he puts his soul in an egg, in a duck, in a hare, in a crystal chest chained high up in an ancient oak.

Are you thinking of retaining some of those lines on the tree radiating out from the eyes, in your final inked version?
I guess too many could get busy.....but I was wondering if you were thinking about keeping a hint of that.

....and what if they continued into the dark areas of the panel with the eyes?

I think I can get a "Toppi" sort of rendering done so the shape is not totally black...I like the idea of continuing the rendering into the dark areas of the panel with the eyes!
